We are pleased to announce the latest team to enter Polar Race 2007
— Team Polar Horizon...
The organisers of Polar Race 2007 are delighted to welcome team Polar Horizon as the latest competitors for next year's race.
The team consists of Alex Henney, from London, and Emlyn Evans and John Barker, both from Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.
Further information on team members can be found on the Meet the Racers section of the website.
The final teams and other new entrants will be announced in October of this year......

Pair of OF’s in race for the North Pole.....
John Barker (Z90-95) and Alex Henney (Z90-95) are participating in the Polar Race in April 2007.
 
The race is a 400 mile trek from the town of Resolute in Canada to the position of the magnetic North Pole as it was in 1996.....

I don’t know how he managed it, but Evans gets himself onto BBC radio taking all his clothes off! Highlights from the interview are, when asked, “why are you walking to the pole?” a confused Evans replies: “because we fancied a stroll”...er, nice one Em! You thought about that reply didn’t you!....oh, & he’s also forced to put on a Spider Man set of thermals...and manages to put them on back to front...thankfully they had kids size for him!...click on the button below to listen to the podcast....

Training gets chilly for polar racers

Their participation in April’s race will raise money for Cancer Research UK and the Wooden Spoon charity, which supports mentally, physically and socially disadvantaged children around the UK....
